A well-established healthcare non-profit entity contacted us to help them initiate and fund a new avenue of projects with the goal of improving community participation in the healthcare process. We collaborated to devise a number of exploratory and evaluative projects with rigorous methods and well-defined, quantitative endpoints. We then went on to prepare grant applications for two of the most innovative projects and submitted them to large healthcare-oriented foundations. Both applications were well received. Funding is pending on one application and the second was invited for resubmission, after consideration of the council’s comments/suggestions.
